Australia’s first ever Youth Ocean Carnival (YOC) event is set to be held in Sydney from the 5th-8th June 2024. This exciting youth event will bring together dynamic ‘thought leaders’, creatives, academics & environmental organisations at a time of unparalleled focus on the UN 30×30 Pledge – To protect and restore 30% of land and ocean by 2030. Youth Ocean Carnival exists to inspire youth changemakers to come together globally to celebrate the love of the ocean and to be empowered to act for its protection. Through diverse presentations of worldviews on ecosystems and sustainability values, the Youth Ocean Carnival aims to build capacities for thinking and acting in ways that are necessary to create a more sustainable future, promoting reflective thinking processes in young people and empowering them to design action that will lead to a more sustainable future.
