WHAT IS

‘Night at the Zoo’?

‘Night at the Zoo’ is an immersive music and art conservation experience hosted by Youth Ocean Carnival SYD24 and our Global Goal Partner Taronga Zoo. It is our flagship Under-18 event for World Ocean Day. The event will provide access and connectivity for youth to explore their senses – feel, smell, taste, think, see and hear to immerse them as changemakers for the ocean.

‘Night at the Zoo’ strives to nurture a new generation of eco-enthusiasts, providing an avenue of creativity for young minds to engage with ocean and nature conservation action.

Bodhi Patil – Global Thought Leader

Transformative Mentors

Innovators, ocean youth educators, zoologists (Taronga Zoo), athletes, social media influencers, artists and musicians. Bodhi Patil is our transformative global thought leader, just at 21 he is an esteemed TED speaker and co-founder of ocean uprise – a creative . He is a United Nation recognised, award-winning Gen Z ocean-climate “Solutionist” dedicated to improving the interconnectedness between ocean health and human health.

For The Wild

Art Installations

Art installations that facilitate movement and guide people towards the ultimate destination – the music. These installations will convey the significance of kindness towards the environment, emphasizing concerns for its health and aiming to inspire conservation actions.

Dynamic Environmental Agencies

Workshop Activities

Workshop activities, co-designed by youth for youth. An invitation to dynamic environmental agencies to give youth all of the tools they need to reduce their waste and ecological footprint. Ensures an active participant and energetic participant focus on youth led ocean conservation.

Rising Up

Film Screening

Rising Up, a feel good film that inspires youth to turn their concern for the environment into action. Rising Up is a journey uncovering the human stories of the greatest we face & finding solutions we can all do to roll up our sleeves and take action. Kal Glanznig – Creator and Host is one of Australia’s leading youth ocean and climate leaders and is Co-founder of Youth Ocean Carnival and Night at the Zoo.

Live Music

Live music delivers freedom to listen, dance and feel motivated to become change-makers. Curated high-school-aged musicians, up-and- coming as well as a headliner to perform at key locations of the venue.
